9:15 am Battling Sophisticated Threats: Security Strategies For The Resilient Enterprise
    Willie Low Willie Low
Senior Market Analyst, Asia/Pacific Infrastructure Software Research, IDC Asia/ Pacific
IT security discussions were once dominated by virus outbreaks, keeping script kiddies out of corporate networks, and having updated backups. But today's threat landscape has changed. Threats have become more multifaceted, networks have become more open, and hackers have become more targeted, better and faster. To make matters worse, the roles of IT infrastructure engineers and security managers have become broader with increased responsibilities. Senior management wants to hear about practices that contribute to the firm's success from them. External customers, suppliers, and partners want assurance that the infrastructure is well protected. IT decision makers need to put in place a security strategy to make the enterprise resilient and prepare for tomorrow's challenges in a cost-effective manner. This presentation presents the IDC Top 10 Security Predictions and highlights to the audience what to look out for across the security landscape in the near future. The speaker will also discuss the implications of the predictions and the best practices for security managers to keep the infrastructure secure and resilient.

  10:15 am Identity Centric Computing
    Paul Kangro Paul Kangro
Applied Technology Strategist, Novell Inc.
A multi-layered approach to Enterprise Security, Integrating Identity, Access, Audit and Application Level Security. When these four areas are aligned with organizational policies you have an enforceable two-pronged security model -complete with real-time compliance. This presentation will look at the critical life-cycle elements of Identify management and how these can be layered on-top of server side application level security to create a belt and braces approach to organizational security. Linux in particular will be used to highlight applications level security and how it can serve to strengthen an identity based model of access.

  10:45 am Coffee Break

11:25 am Optimal Application Delivery and Complete Line-of-Sight Control for Any Application
    Yaj Malik Yaj Malik
Area Vice President, ASEAN, Citrix Systems

Businesses today are running more than ever on applications and with the increasingly mobile and global workforce and business partner connectivity, this ever changing business landscape is presenting a new set of challenges for IT teams to continue delivering applications effectively while enhancing data security and addressing new regulatory and compliance requirements. IT teams and key security executives such as Chief Information Office (CIO) and Chief Security Officer (CSO) need to protect and verify the security of its valuable information, while ensuring that its operations keeps pace with the business. Putting in place a robust application delivery infrastructure built on a secure-by-design foundation will enable IT teams to deliver applications efficiently and protect all types of applications- Windows®, Web and desktop - in any type of user scenario, including teleworking, mobile working, and the use of public devices at the same time.

In this session, Citrix will address key application delivery challenges facing businesses today and outline how you can maintain a complete line-of-sight control for any application, keep sensitive data confidential and in the safest place, while strengthening security when delivering web applications to millions of customers and partners online.

11:55 am User delight or security compliance. Can they co-exist?
    Andrew Namboka Andrew Namboka
Chief Technologist, Asia Pacific, Nokia Enterprises Solutions

The challenge today extends beyond ensuring a secured network environment from external threats. Organizations are experiencing an evolution in threats at multiple levels from new vulnerabilities embedded within new applications, threat sources from inside the network and an increasing need to detect and mitigate against threats over different media. The network perimeter, which we once knew well is rapidly dissolving and application access is demanded by users from more locations, devices and media. Methods and strategies from yesteryear are no longer adequate to form sound defenses for corporate IT infrastructure in today's context.

It is however critical that the solutions and strategies adopted do not compromise on their needs to support corporate access and new applications to fuel growth. As threats evolve, so should your defenses. It is of utmost importance to ensure that the strategy or solution adopted is robust & resilient enough to withstand this ever changing security landscape without compromising on access.

Hear how Nokia perceive the security & threat landscape and as a result provide solutions to assist businesses in achieving defensive postures that enables access without compromise.

3:15 pm The Impact of Security on Software Development
    Chris Sharp Chris Sharp
General Manager, Server & Tools, Microsoft Asia Pacific
In an ever-changing landscape, security threats continue to multiply and evolve, driving the software industry to develop more secure products and providing guidance and tools to help costumers reinforce their existing security technologies. Security is today a full component of the product development process in the software industry. This presentation will discuss on how this evolution of the threat landscape has redefined software development for the industry. The speaker will present on how software companies are making progress in developing more secure code and making more secure software using processes like the Security Development Lifecycle (SDL). SDL is an evolving process that helps ensure that the company’s software and solutions are built from the ground up to reduce security risks. Ultimately we will discuss on how security in the software industry is increasingly an economy-wide concern that can only be tackled by partnerships and collaboration with industry leaders and governments.

3:45 pm Turn Logs into Logic, and Logic into Action: Best Practices for Security Information Management
      Stephen Tan
Regional Director, Asia Pacific, ArcSight
As cyber-criminals get smarter and smarter, staying one step ahead of emerging security threats is getting harder and harder. More than ever, companies need to pay strict attention to network security, not only to defend against attacks and protect customer data, but also to satisfy a growing list of regulatory compliance issues. Organizations large and small have attempted to protect themselves by pouring millions of dollars into security solutions like antivirus gateway, firewalls and intrusion detection systems. But this has led to a new problem: crippling complexity. As a result, companies are now burdened with trying to manage massive logs from hundreds and thousands of security devices, applications and systems from many different vendors. In this presentation, you will see a single, integrated solution from ArcSight that enables enterprises to collect massive amounts of security data from heterogeneous sources, filter false positives, and then aggregate, correlate, and prioritize for real-time monitoring and response.

4:15 pm Seven Habits of Highly Malicious Hackers
    Sanjay Bavisi Sanjay Bavisi
President, EC Council
Understand the latest trends and technologies used by the underground network of hackers to render systems "unsecured" even after large investments in security systems and applications. Learn defensive steps you can take against the underground hacking community. The session will explain and expose the closely guarded technologies used by hackers to penetrate systems.

4:45 pm Join the Debate: "Security technology is all here. It's just the way we do things that are causing all the problems!"
Willie Low Moderated by Willie Low
Senior Market Analyst, Asia/Pacific Infrastructure Software Research, IDC Asia/ Pacific

The human being is often said to be the weakest link within the enterprise security infrastructure. Some even take it to the extreme saying that the human is not causing the problem. Rather, it IS the problem.

Is this really the case, or is it just a convenient sacrificial lamb to mask the inadequacy of today's security technology? Or is it that security has not really been integrated into the business workflow? Is a well-aligned process for executing the security strategy the missing keystone? Join us for a debate with the different stakeholders!
