Praveen Kumar has been appointed Vice-President Services, Nortel* [NYSE/TSX: NT] Asia, and will be responsible for sales, operations, profitability and customer satisfaction of Nortel’s global services portfolio for Asia. He will be operating from Singapore.
During the course of his distinguished career in the IT industry, Praveen has held a number of key positions with industry leaders like IBM Global Services and Sprint RPG. With more than 11 years at IBM Global Services developing Security Services, Praveen has established an outstanding track record of success in being able to create and deliver value and increase revenues across a wide range of industry sectors throughout the region.
His expertise lies in building Delivery Teams and Portfolio capabilities, specializing in the design of high performance storage solutions, security solutions, and complex infrastructure solutions in the manufacturing, petroleum, banking and telecom industry
Praveen has a wealth of experience in strategic risk management consulting, including Business Risk Assessments, Architecture Review Assessments, Information Life Cycle Management, SOA Definitions, Asset Valuations, Policy Definitions, Gap Analysis, Disaster Recovery Planning and Applications of Countermeasures.
Praveen is a Certified Ethical Hacker, a BS7799 lead auditor, a Certified Novell Engineer, Stonegate certified Architect, a Commerce Graduate, and holds a Masters Diploma in Computer Systems Application.
Nortel Global Services portfolio offers a full lifecycle of services in the design, deployment, support and evolution of multi-vendor, multi-technology networks, and Kumar will be responsible for managing and growing this strategic aspect of Nortel's business across Asia.
