Reginald R. Hutcherson
Head of Technology
Evangelism, Sun Microsystems, Inc.

Reggie is the head of Sun's Technology
Evangelism group; his group is responsible
for providing the long-term strategic vision
of Sun's technologies to executives, developers,
press, analysts, and key customers worldwide.
He has global responsibility for creating
and leveraging relationships with key ISVs
to disseminate technology and business propositions
regarding Sun's key technologies. This includes
competitive analysis of market dynamics
and strategic direction of key platforms,
technologies and products.
Reggie has an extensive background developing
state-of-the-art software systems. He has
worked on several large government projects
in the USA assisting in the adoption and
deployment of key Internet technologies
and standards. At the Stanford Research
Institute, he researched distributed systems
and network protocols. At Sybase Inc., he
worked in the Performance & Kernel Architecture
group on their state-of-the-art distributed
database engine.
Reggie has a Bachelor of Science degree
in Computer Science and a MBA from the University
of California at Berkeley. Additionally,
he matriculated in the Master of Science
program for Computer Science at Stanford
University.
