9:10 am Achieving Business Agility with Innovative Solutions
    Tim Bailey Tim Bailey
Director of Platform Marketing, Intel Asia Pacific
IT impacts business primarily by helping reduce business costs through productivity enhancements delivered by new technology, driving business agility through unlocking new ways of doing business or enabling greater efficiencies through technology and by creating sustainable competitive advantage. The increase in IT infrastructure demands is driving a transition to new technologies such as 64-bit computing, multi-core processors and server virtualization. Intel innovates a broad set of new server technologies to support this growth in computing, working with the ecosystem to provide comprehensive solutions that deliver better value in real-world environments. Now is the time to take advantage of Intel's extensive information, tools and resources to reduce your risk and enable your business growth.

9:40 am Rise of the Untethered Enterprise
    John Humphreys John Humphreys
Research Manager, Enterprise Computing, IDC
Business processing is being used to create or sustain temporary competitive advantages through the advent of new application development models such as Web Services. However, to create this dynamic enterprise, requires a new way to think, build and support the seamless end-to-end IT infrastructure which IDC calls the Dynamic IT. Mr. Humphrey's session will prepare IT professionals of the platform requirements to establish the 'Virtual Data Center'. He will take you on a tour of key trends, emerging technologies such as multi-core processing, extreme blade system deployments and their challenges, grid computing, and the life expectancy of traditional data center computing. Wrapped around these technologies will be the influence of virtualization offerings to try to meet the CIO goals. However, the question we are all asking is will this ever happen on our watch? Come, listen, ask and find out?

11:00 am High Availability Technology: Experience in Mission Critical System
    Teruyuki Kawabe

Teruyuki Kawabe
Senior Manager, Broadband & Business Solutions, NEC Hong Kong Ltd

With the spread of the Internet in recent years, we have become increasingly dependent upon IT, as evidenced by our daily use of e-mail and the spread of Internet–based business. The demand for massive and high-speed data processing is surging in enterprise information systems, and also seen is the growing need for minimizing loss of business opportunities due to system downtime. Furthermore, there is the increasing need for stable operation of corporate systems with increased service quality, and for systems that offer uninterrupted operation such as factory production line control, in the event of failure or recovery activities. NEC Express5800/ft series fault-tolerant server is a high availability, cost –effective solution of unparalleled reliability for the mission critical operations.

11:30 am Security and Convergence: Camera and guard meets IDS
    Keri Lewis

Keri Lewis
General Manager, Security and Mobility Solutions, Datacraft Asia Ltd

Convergence happens when the barriers between similar activities are removed. We will be discussing the potential convergence between the disciplines of physical asset protection, and the world of IT Security. Both disciplines share common agendas, common methodologies and in many cases similar vocabulary and culture. They have been separated by the different technologies that are used by both the attackers and the guardians of our assets. These barriers are quickly eroding. Modern converged networks can provide a common infrastructure for both the IT security organization, and now the organizations which provide physical security of the premises. IP Digital video Surveillance, RFID Personnel Identification and computer aided behaviour analysis promise to enhance the capabilities of the traditional guard and CCTV infrastructures. In this session, we will examine the similarities, the potential converged security organizations and the common technologies which will be used by the converged security organization.Specific topics will include:- Digital Video Surveillance- RFID . Location and context sensitive interfaces- Cost and benefits of securing the distributed enterprise through a converged infrastructure

12:00 pm Building a Smarter Infrastructure by APC's On-Demand Solutions
    Darren Lau

Darren Lau
Infrastructure Program Manager, Asia Pacific, APC

Today the datacenter is a vital and critical part of the business. Yet, many companies do not consider it as their main concern or priority. Datacenter leaders nowadays face challenges in near-zero downtime, low operating costs, system availability and scalability. And as technologies and environment change, it is even more critical to be able to standardize and manage the physical layer of the entire IT environment, deployed centralized management.
To respond effectively to the rapid changing environments, datacenter leaders should start re-designing theirs datacenters. And what are the key questions CIOs should ask when re-evaluating datacenter? Darren will explain the importance of having a strong Network Critical Physical Infrastructure, and APC’s on-demand InfraStruXure’s solutions that provide flexibility, scalability and agility for datacenters.
