Justin Lee graduated from the National University of Singapore (NUS) with Honors in Information Systems and a Minor in Technology Entrepreneurship. He spent a year at Stanford University in California, USA studying the unique entrepreneurial nature of Silicon Valley by attending classes at the Stanford Technology Venture Program (STVP).
He also experienced the entrepreneurial dynamism of startups by working as a Sales Engineer at L2 Solutions, an enterprise direct-marketing software solutions company serving the Fortune 500 companies. During his time in Silicon Valley, he was a student of John Nesheim, author of best-selling books, "Hi-Tech Startup" and "Unfair Advantage", and Tom Kosnik, consulting partner at The Chasm Group which invented the famous Technology Adoption Lifecycle Curve.
During the year in Silicon Valley, he was actively engaged in the community through his participation in numerous industry/developer conferences, entrepreneurial organizations and even pitched to Venture Capitalists. Upon returning to Singapore he co-founded the Entrepreneur 27 Singapore branch that is now the organizer of the largest Web 2.0 UnConferences and the innovative GARAG3 Interactive Digital Media incubator in Singapore. He was also a judge for the youth category at the StartUp@Singapore business plan competition.
Previously he was involved in setting up the first student-run restaurant in NUS, the first student-run mobile phone shop in NUS, the largest online magazine in NUS and organizing the largest warehouse sale in NUS. Since 1996 he's also been involved in conducting training sessions for programming, 3D animation, webdesign and Macromedia Flash.He firmly believes in the potential of young people to make a difference in this world.
Justin is currently Executive Director of E27 Singapore and the Garag3 and works tirelessly to develop innovative experiences that foster technology entrepreneurship.
He also serves as the Business Development Director and Co-Founder of PointStar Pte Ltd which is a fast growing Internet services company with a presence in Singapore and Jakarta. PointStar helps companies develop a compelling presence online and operates datacentres in Singapore, Jakarta and Japan and specializes in media streaming and Asian Market Penetration services.
Recently, Justin was invited to facilitate a session on Social Networking for the Economist Intelligence Unit and spoke at the Techno Venture Forum at NUS. |
