3. How do I obtain information about analyst coverage areas in Asia/Pacific?

Go to http://www.idc.com.sg/analysts/default.asp.

4. How should I source IDC in my story?

When using IDC tables/charts, you must provide the following attribution "Source: IDC" at the minimum unless more information is provided. For example, "Source: IDC Asia/Pacific Semiannual Wireless LAN Tracker 2H 2009". When you quote an analyst and his/her designation, please do so in this order, e.g. Bryan Ma, Associate Vice President, Devices and Peripherals, Domain Research and Practice Group, IDC Asia/Pacific. To verify all IDC data obtained from a third party, please contact IDCAP_Corpcomms@idc.com.

5. How do I get into the distribution list for press releases?

We are always happy to include members of the press in our distribution list for IDC's press releases. If you are not already on our regular distribution list, please fill out the form at http://www.idc.com.sg/Press/subscribe.aspx. You will be able to receive targeted communications based on your specific interest areas.

6. I have some IDC data I'd like to use in my article, but I want to make sure it's the most current available. What should I do?

Please contact IDCAP_Corpcomms@idc.com.

7. I'm writing an article for publication online, and I would like to link back to IDC. Do I need to seek approval from IDC?

Linking back to information on IDC.com does not require our permission.

8. How do I get a photo of the analyst for my story/broadcast segment?

Please contact IDCAP_Corpcomms@idc.com with the name of the analyst and specifications of the photo you required.

9. Will IDC analysts write editorial pieces or contribute whole articles?

Yes, IDC would certainly consider such requests. Please contact us at IDCAP_Corpcomms@idc.com

10. Why does IDC not provide free access to all its research?

IDC invests considerable financial and intellectual capital in its research. Analysts spend weeks and months researching and writing reports, developing insights and forecasts, and drawing important conclusions about various technology markets. In order to protect these investments and maintain the value of its research, IDC must be selective about when and how its research is presented in the public domain.
