10. Why does IDC not provide free access to all its research?
IDC invests considerable financial and intellectual capital in its research. Analysts spend weeks and months researching and writing reports, developing insights and forecasts, and drawing important conclusions about various technology markets. In order to protect these investments and maintain the value of its research, IDC must be selective about when and how its research is presented in the public domain.
