Research Manager, Asia/Pacific Communications Research, IDC Asia/Pacific

In an uncertain business environment, enterprises not only want to tide over difficult times, but also ensure the pace of growth continues unabated. Enterprise communication is witnessing revolutionary changes as unified communications brings in possibilities of integrating telephony with a wide variety of communication and business applications to deliver a cohesive and intuitive user experience, along with improved employee collaboration. While the industry has transcended the debate about the need for an integrated communication infrastructure, it is now turning its sights on reducing UC solution complexities and focusing on efficient deployment models to suit the particular needs and challenges of an enterprise organization.

Distributed enterprises require empowerment to ensure productivity and efficiency. Yet, datacenter or resource consolidation imposes challenges to branch productivity. Hence IT organizations today need ways to either determine the impact of consolidation on application response times or to improve application performance after resource consolidation. We will explore how performance acceleration could offer competitive advantages to enterprises, regardless of the economic environment, and also discuss why extracting the most out of application performance optimization could help maximize your investments - an approach that has immense significance during times of business uncertainty.
