Most Datacenters in the region are old (between 7-10 years at an average), overloaded and not able to accommodate the new technology that is demanding formidably higher power, weight and heat dissipation requirements. This is causing to be a big issue in times when customers are trying to build more agility, flexibility and scale such that IT can become a strategic tool for the business. The problem is the age-old complexity that breeds within the IT datacenters causing unnecessary cost and excessive redundancies. CIOs have a mandate to control operational costs and build IT that is more proactive. However, this is easier said than done - especially with the ageing datacenters, and customers are fast realising the need to revamp/rebuild their datacenters in order to stay competitive and indeed be able to leverage the benefits of IT.
IDC has done extensive surveys worldwide and in Asia/Pacific to understand the critical pinpoints customers face today, and in this presentation will like to share the top trends we see affecting this market. IDC will like to draw on its knowledge reserves to talk about the areas of opportunity that end-users must look at in order to build IT fabrics that is more dynamic in nature. |
