Norm Lo
Vice President
Research in Motion
|
As Vice President for Research In Motion (RIM),
Mr. Lo drives BlackBerry growth and success in
market and is responsible for building and cultivating
RIM's relationships with various partners and
carriers offering the BlackBerry solution in North
America and now in Asia-Pacific.
Mr. Lo's career spans twenty years in high technology
research, product development, management, sales
and marketing. For the past five years at RIM,
he has been instrumental in creating and growing
the CDMA 1XRTT and iDEN BlackBerry products and
carrier businesses.
Prior to joining RIM in 2000, Mr. Lo worked for
Nortel Networks, serving in various roles within
the wireless organization. He was a key contributor
to the creation and growth of Nortel's CDMA base
station products and business.
Mr. Lo graduated with a M.B.A degree from the
University of Ottawa and holds a B.A.Sc. degree
in Engineering Physics from the University of
British Columbia, as well as M.Eng. and Ph.D.
degrees in Electrical Engineering from Carleton
University, including one year as a visiting researcher
at the University of Edinburgh.
Mr. Lo serves on the board of directors of Ottawa
Centre for Research and Innovation (OCRI) and
Ottawa Life Sciences Council (OLSC), as well as
formerly on the technical advisory committee of
Radical Horizon, a software radio company.
