Originally from the Southeast United States,
Robert has spent the last 15 years working
in London, New York and Los Angeles in varying
roles in the IT profession. Eleven years
ago he worked on his first internet site.
Since that time he has helped produce and
launch over 60 major internet applications
in the areas of customer self service, knowledge
management, retail and marketing, new media
publishing, and entertainment. He is as
passionate today about the technology as
when he saw his first static html web site.
In past roles, Robert has served as an internet
consultant as well as an IT Director for
a major publishing firm in the United States.
Robert joined Vignette 7 years ago after
having purchased earlier versions of their
award winning software to deploy on 2 separate
independent customer projects. He has been
residing and working in SE Asia with Vignette
for the last 4 years. Because of his prior
experience in business strategy, channel
management, and solution design, delivery
and deployment, Knickman has been tasked
with managing and expanding Vignette's presence
in the SE Asia region. Based in Singapore
covering, Thailand, Hong Kong, China, South
Korea and the ASEAN region, Robert is tasked
with enabling customers and partners on
how to solve complex business problems and
best leverage their existing technology
investments by using Vignette's latest content,
collaboration and portal solutions that
enable an open standards based services
oriented architecture.
