The Top 10 (IT) Initiatives
in Banks in Asia/Pacific |
| |
|
 |
Cyrus
Daruwala
Managing Director, Asia/Pacific
Research and Consulting, Financial Insights |
| |
|
Banks in Asia continue to focus on
'fixing the fundamentals' such as core banking,
data warehousing, channels, financial systems, payment
infrastructure and so on. These issues will continue
to absorb the majority of new spend. Furthermore
banks cannot escape the pressures associated with
regulatory compliances of Basel II, AML, and new
security mandates around dual-factor authentication.
All of these issues too have been a priority, and
hence the reciprocating spends. In this presentation
we will share with you what these Top-10 initiatives
are, and what they mean to you. |

Manufacturing Industry
Trends: Towards IT-Enabled Dynamism |
| |
|
 |
Ng
Buck-Seng
Associate Director, Manufacturing
Insights, an IDC company |
| |
|
Manufacturers today face a daunting
world of relentless changes in their environments,
unpredictable market conditions and ruthless competition.
In order to survive and do well in such evolving
conditions, manufacturers need to build agility
and adaptability into their businesses, where adverse
impacts of changes can be effectively mitigated
by a mix of adaptive strategies, flexible business
processes and dynamic IT enablers. In this session,
Mr. Ng will share Manufacturing Insights' research
on the business environment and associated imperatives
in the manufacturing industry, and review key trends
that shape manufacturing business and IT priorities.
He will also present Manufacturing Insights' IT
Economics model and how manufacturing companies
are using the model to shape their IT strategy. |

Government Trends,
Trades and Targets |
| |
|
 |
Victor
Lim
Vice President, Business
Development - Asia/Pacific Verticals |
| |
|
Governments in Asia/Pacific are facing
increasing demands for government services, pressure
to modernize its operations and is competing regionally
to establish IT as a main driver of economic growth.
The road ahead is not easy as they need to navigate
around budget constraints, technology complexity
and the ever growing conflict between security and
transparent access. These will continue to be the
key drivers for the future of information technology
innovation and investments in this vertical. Government
buyers must constantly evaluate the multi-layered
web of political, management, and technical challenges
to determine where and how to invest in new information
technology resources and services. With the complexity
of public sector policy, a mishmash of leading edge
and legacy technology, and a sometimes weak reputation
for delivering value, government buyers are looking
for assistance to simplify the decision making and
solve their technology riddles. This session will
examine the top issues facing the government buyers,
explore new buying models, and discuss opportunities
for information technology solutions and services. |
