Mobile computing has become a way of life. Today, having regular access to the Internet and constantly staying in touch through emails are just some basic fundamental needs of any busy executive. Furthermore, for the field worker, getting real-time information on job dispatches or client data is critical to their job.

9:45 am Business Race to Mobility: Managing the 3Cs
    Sandra Ng Ms. Sandra Ng
Vice President, Asia/Pacific Communications, Peripherals and Services Research, IDC Asia/Pacific
With the increasing need to effectively communicate among organizations and individuals, complexity kicks in, leading to the emergence of converging technologies and solutions. The expanding mobile workforce is creating a complex but yet important and necessary ecosystem. With the ecosystem still being developed, stakeholders are taking a trial-and-error approach to partner and serve their customers. Not all players want to own the final customer relationships, many however do and there are just so many customers in the market place. Who is winning the hearts of the users today? How does the CIO and IT manager navigate within this sea of providers and solutions? How does one optimize adoption by balancing technology limitations and benefits? What is the strategy to effectively mobilize an organization's IT infrastructure to best serve its business goals?

10:15 am Enterprise Mobility and the Future of Smartphones
    Paul Blinkhorn Mr. Paul Blinkhorn
Vice President, Asia Pacific, Palm Inc.
Wireless technology permeates nearly every facet of our lives. From cell phones to computers, mobility is rapidly becoming ubiquitous, and the convergence of voice and data is accelerating the process. Mobile business will likely evolve in stages that will follow similar trends from the growth of Internet use, albeit at a much fast pace - from mobile voice & data to mobile everything. Hear why businesses are compelled to go mobile.

11:15 am How do enterprises can leverage Intelligent Communications
    Ms. June Chan

Ms. June Chan
Chief Information Officer, Avaya

Converged networks pose significant challenges for enterprises due to multiple standards, software applications and devices. Companies could resolve these challenges using Service Oriented Architecture (SOA), a software architecture that makes it easy to disaggregate and rearrange pieces of software, and Session Initiation Protocol (SIP), an industry standard that streamlines integration of new applications and enables enterprises, to tap the full potential of presence-based applications. By turning complex communications software into flexible, re-usable components or applets, Avaya, a leading global provider of communications networks and services for businesses, is enabling companies to integrate their applications and others in an SOA framework to reshape their business operations. This next step in Intelligent Communications capitalizes on open interoperability, productivity, business continuity, security and compliance, and facilitates a smooth migration to new SIP capabilities and Web Services. Companies that integrate communications into their business processes can reduce the complexity of separate platforms, achieve significant cost savings, and improve collaboration and productivity. They also can design workers' individual communicationstools using voice, text and video based on business needs for easier access and use.
