Bob Rudy is best characterized as a situational leader with an entrepreneurial bent. He constantly seeks opportunities that enable him to wield his considerable leadership capabilities in startup, turnaround and strategic transformation environments. From Fortune 500 giants to software startups, Bob has been operationally and financially successful in them all. His management and leadership skills were honed during ten years at Intel Corporation, in the midst of their growth from $690M to $7B in revenues.
Bob Rudy is currently Vice President and CIO of Avago Technologies, a $1.7B semiconductor firm headquartered in San Jose, California. At Avago, he is responsible for leading the Global Information Technology division. Bob has been with Avago since April 2007.
Prior to joining Avago, Bob was Corporate Vice President & CIO at Lam Research Corporation, a leading semiconductor equipment manufacturer. During his 4 ½ years at Lam, he was responsible for Global Information Systems, which included IT and e-business infrastructure, enterprise applications, engineering computing, telecommunications, enterprise architecture and IS security. He was also the lead executive for implementation of Lam’s dynamically-variable business model which became the outsourcing benchmark for the industry. In addition, he was the first President and Chairman of CapOneSource LLC a shared services alliance which he founded in July of 2003. CapOneSource is an innovative purchasing alliance established to provide mid-sized companies the aggregated buying power of much larger firms (www.caponesource.com).
Prior to Lam, Bob held various senior management and engineering positions in a number of manufacturing and service organizations, including Intel Corporation and Sematech. He also took an e-business company public in 1998, raising $110M in the process. And in the early 90’s Bob founded and led RenaiSys Corporation, a software development and consulting firm which he later sold.
Bob holds undergraduate degrees in Physics and Business Management, as well as a Masters in Information Systems. Bob also has the distinction of having served as a member of the Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award board of examiners.
