Gark Tan

As Director of Marketing, Asia Pacific, Research In Motion, Gark is responsible for strategic marketing initiatives as well as the development and execution of integrated marketing campaigns that help drive the growth of BlackBerry business within the region.
Based in Singapore, he leads a team of marketing managers and specialists across Asia Pacific region. His organization is responsible for providing key carrier, channel and business partners with go-to-market and in-life marketing support/programs which aim to increase mindshare with BlackBerry proposition as well as to drive greater market awareness and demand for BlackBerry products and services.
Gark Tan’s career spans 22 years in information technology and communications industry. He has held senior management positions in sales & marketing, engineering, IT and product development. Prior to joining RIM in March 2007, he was the head of Brand Management and Promotions, Communications and Wireless Handheld Group, with Intel Asia.
Gark Tan graduated with an M.B.A. (Financial Management) from Nanyang Business School (Singapore) and holds a B.E.E.E. degree in Computer Engineering from Nanyang Technological University (Singapore).
