| Synopsis |

|
With increasing concerns over rising energy costs, the focus has turned to the ICT market and what impact this industry has on energy consumption and the environment in general. IDC estimates that for every dollar (US) spent on computer hardware at the moment, an additional 50 cents (US) is spent on the power to run it and cool it down. And this is expected to increase by 54% to 71 cents for every dollar over the next four years. This has led to the emergence of Green IT, and during this session, IDC will be discussing the trends and outlook for this market as well as drivers for adoption amongst end-user clients. We will also share the results of the IDC Asia/Pacific Green Poll - an end-user survey that gauges buying behaviour with respect to Green IT.
