IT spending has been growing rapidly in recent years.
Many vertical industries are dedicating bigger budgets
towards all aspects of IT spending. Two up and coming
vertical sectors to watch out for are the SMBs and the
Government. As the economy struggles to emerge from
the depression, competition among IT vendors and service
providers also intensifies with many struggling for
profitability. Operators throughout the region are also
quick to footnote their fervor by emphasizing that they
have learnt to be cautious in their capital investments
despite their newfound confidence in the Asia/Pacific
markets which have almost bottomed out. As a result,
communications and IT vendors are being forced to position
their products and solutions in line with this prudent
attitude towards capital investment to help service
providers reduce costs and accelerate their returns
on investment while bringing a new dimension to communication
dynamics.
At IDC's first breakfast briefing of 2004, our Vertical
industry experts will share their latest findings and
insights on the changing spending patterns and IT investment
priorities of public sector companies and SMBs in the
next five years.
