Enterprise Mobility
- Is The Supplier Ecosystem Equipped To Ride The
Next Wave? |
| |
 |
Sandra
Ng
Vice President, Asia/Pacific
Communications, Peripherals and Services Research |

We will see a spiral
effect in Enterprise Mobility as enterprise applications
will get mobile enabled and new wireless technologies
will further unfetter the enterprise. Asia/Pacific
is unique in the sense that different markets are
at different levels of Enterprise Mobility solution
adoption. What are the trends in the key markets
in the region? The Enterprise mobility marketplace
is becoming increasingly complex as a new order
of players is forming including vendors, carriers
and SIs. We are seeing the Davids trying to carve
out their territory and Goliaths extending their
fiefdom. All are marshalling their resources as
the enterprises take their baby steps into the mobility
world. How is the enterprise mobility value chain
shaping up? The end game will be to become a one-stop
shop or engage partners who will complement you.
At this presentation, please join Sandra Ng as she
uncovers the game plan and the lessons from the
early experiments of enterprises. |

Shalini
Verma
Senior Market Analyst,
Asia/Pacific Enterprise Mobility Research |

Spurred on by the growing business
needs, the carriers' drive to steady the ARPU, and
rising mobile workforce, enterprise mobility growth
is set to explode in the Asia/Pacific region. Enterprises
in Asia/Pacific are using mobile email as the first
step to introducing mobility into their enterprise.
The dynamics are exciting as the enterprises in
mature and emerging markets strap up for propelling
themselves into the mobility space. Mobile email
is rapidly morphing into collaborative applications,
which will whet the enterprises appetite for
mobilizing more mission critical enterprise applications
and integrating mobile devices into enterprise voice
communication. IT managers want to reign in the
new mobility solutions and the devices that are
being introduced into the enterprise network by
prosumers. IDC does some crystal gazing to outline
the evolutionary stages of the enterprise mobility
solutions and technologies, and sets a timeframe
for each stage. In her presentation, Shalini Verma
will also provide the trends related to market spend
on enterprise mobility in the Asia/Pacific (excluding
Japan) region. |
