  Edwin Han Edwin Han
Senior Research Manager, Asia/Pacific Peripherals Research
"The paperless office" fired the imagination of the broader public when it was first touted in a Business Week magazine article in June 1975. More than 30 years later, and following a countless number of information technology developments, even the best equipped offices of today still consume significant amounts of paper, and occasionally get consumed by paper! What happened? Why has paper become such an essential and integral part of our lives despite the popular belief that all of the tools are available today to relegate paper to ancient history? What really are the problems with paper?

Please join Edwin Han as he addresses these questions, looks at what end users are trying to achieve with paper and document management, and explores how document solutions can help. He will also review the Asia/Pacific (excluding Japan) document solutions market size, forecast, trends and drivers.
9:40 am Information Trends in a Flat World
  Sharon Tan Sharon Tan
Senior Market Analyst, Asia/Pacific Enterprise Applications Research

Managing sensitive and business critical information today is a daunting task, especially since much of the information is in the form of content such as emails and word documents. In an era of globalization and an increasingly interconnected world of business, there is growing awareness of the need to develop a more complete information environment from the various types of information available.

What’s the cost of not finding information? What do users want? What does the competitive landscape look like? In her recent report, Ms. Tan predicts that the Asia/Pacific excluding Japan content management software market will grow to reach US$245.3 million by 2010. That represents a very healthy 5-year annual growth of 14.0%. In her presentation, she will share the reasons behind her prediction and explore the key trends and drivers in this market.
