9:10 - 9:50 am Managed Services - New Opportunities, New Battleground
  Douglas Jaffe Sandra Ng
Vice President, Asia/Pacific Communications and Peripherals Research, IDC Asia/Pacific

As enterprises across the region gradually take the Managed Services route for their IT management requirements, a trilogy of players have emerged setting up their stall impressively and aggressively across the region. IT services vendors, Telecoms and networking vendors have all made a determined onslaught on this market with refreshed product lines, acquisitions and strategic tie ups.

Over the last 12 months, a slew of multi million dollars Managed Services contracts have been awarded by Telecom Operators across the region. Have the Asian Telecom Operator in the region finally warmed up to the idea of Managed Services? Have we thus only barely scratch the surface of the possibilities that this can bring to Managed Services Vendors?

This presentation will outline the opportunities in the Managed Services market in the Asia/Pacific region, what are the best practices and business models that have emerged that will meet the increasingly complex demands of the Asian enterprises and telecom operators.

9.50 - 10.20 am IT Outsourcing - Talking Into Reality
  Douglas Jaffe Eugene Wee
Market Analyst, Asia/Pacific Services Research, IDC Asia/Pacific

There has been much discussion and perhaps controversy in Asia about the merits and value to be gained from outsourcing of IT by enterprises. What is clear is that the market is constantly evolving, and what was appropriate today will not be suitable for tomorrow. In his presentation Mr. Wee will highlight how to stay ahead of the competition and meet client requirements. Additionally he will highlight the role to be played by business process outsourcing (BPO) and offshore outsourcing and how an integrated capability has become the requirement to get in the clients door.

10:20 - 10:40 am Question & Answer
10:40 - 10:50 am Closing Remarks
10:50 am Networking and Refreshments
