China is the second largest PC market
in the world with solid growth expected for the

itself further onto the global stage. However the
opportunities in China can vary significantly between
sub-region and industry. Join IDC's Vice President
of Greater China Research Kitty Fok as she takes
you through the growth opportunities in China and
shares with you which vendors, both local and multinational,
are best positioned to take advantage of the opportunities.
Ms Fok will also provide you with some insights
into the challenges faced by local Chinese vendors
as they try to execute on their overseas ambitions.

As TFT manufacturers continue to expand
production capacity, and vendor consolidation further
produces scale, TFT-LCD panel prices have fallen
significantly across all sizes. This has implications
for a whole host of devices that require a slim
and light display; growth of LCD PC Monitors, LCD-TVs,
and notebook computers have taken off significantly
in the last year as a result of falling end user
prices. Where is this heading, and will this trend
continue? This presentation will address the impact
of the shift of LCDs to the mainstream display technology
on the assemblers. |
