Institutionalization of SOA in Financial Services Industries and Public Sector Has Reaped Positive Results, IDC Observes
Singapore and Hong Kong,
June 5, 2007 - In IDC's recent survey on Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) adoption in Asia/Pacific, it is observed that among the 100 organizations that have adopted SOA, the major focus has been on reworking business processes and adopting a common set of internal processes to optimize efficiencies. IDC notes that SOA has been leveraged across a wide range of industries including banking, brokerage, insurance, and government sectors in Asia/Pacific.

IDC Asia/Pacific Survey Found Mobile Games and Utilities Software To Be The Most Popularly Developed

- IAccording to IDC's survey report, Asia/Pacific (Including Japan) Software Developers: Development “On-the-Go” (Doc #AP322104P), software developers are mostly involved in producing mobile games and utilities software. Of those respondents who were involved with games development, the majority was from large value-added reseller (VAR) or software distributor organizations, whereas utilities software was mostly developed by IT hardware manufacturers.

Investment in Better Management and Automation Tools was the Top Data Center Priority in Asia/Pacific Including Japan Data Center, Says IDC

June 26, 2007 - According to IDC's "Continuum" End-User Survey 2007* conducted by IDC's Central Research Group in Asia/Pacific, 33% of respondents indicated that their major concern was to invest in better management and/or automation tools to reduce cost and improve efficiency when asked about key data center priorities. 28% stated that they were focused on improving availability and uptime by buying more reliable servers, while 14% of the respondents suggested that server virtualization was their current priority.
